Adam Lambert is reportedly facing legal action for violating American Idol rules when he auditioned.
According to overseas reports, Lambert violated the reality show's conditions by auditioning while in contract with a music publisher.
He is now believed to be facing a lawsuit over recordings made before he launched to stardom through the popular reality show.
In the lawsuit, Colwel Platinum Entertainment allege Lambert shouldn't have been allowed to audition, and that they have the rights to claim half the publishing shares of the tracks involved.
At the moment Lambert's team haven't publicly addressed the issue.
