Apple's new CEO Tim Cook unveiled the brand new iPhone this morning: the iPhone 4S.
Many people, including the biggest tech blogs, felt largely underwhelmed after expected Apple to release an iPhone 5 this morning.
After enduring a year of iPhone 5 rumours, such as a bigger screen, thinner form factor and a host of other improvements, the announcement came as a surprise.
Here are the new features:
2 x faster performance and 7 x faster graphics thanks to a new Dual-Core A5 processor.
All-new 8 Megapixel Camera and optics. 1080p HD video recording.
iOS 5 and iCloud allows for wireless syncing, PC-less setup, iMessage (like viber/whatsapp: send messages over wi-fi), direct twitter integration and notification center.
Siri – iPhone 4S voice assistant. Can process natural language as opposed to simple voice commands. Eg. Ask “What’s the weather like?” and it will respond with the weather forecast. In addition for forecasts, Siri can read messages back, search Wikipedia, schedule calendar appointments, set work reminders, transcribe text messages, search Google Maps and more.
Two antennas. 2 x faster maximum data speed over the iPhone 4.
