There were so many highlights of the 2009 Adelaide Big Day Out despite Neil Young being announced as the headliner! (WTF?)
This time last year Adelaide was an absolutely stinking hot place with a week of 40+ degree temperatures! The Big Day out still gave plenty of reasons to bare the heat with acts like the Arctic Monkeys, The Ting Tings, The Living End, Sneaky Sound System, Pendulum, The Prodigy and Lupe Fiasco!
2009 Highlights @ Wayville Showgrounds
- Pendulum performing Tarantula as the sun was coming down over Adelaide.
- Lupe Fiasco's awesome acrobatic performance.
- Birds of Tokyo set where beach balls were flying everywhere!
- Lilyworld looked awesome and a good little spot to catch some shade.
- Silent disco was a great way to have a ball, but also look like a tool to the rest of your mates while you danced ridiculously in silence..
- Everyone refusing to keep a sombrero during the final acts of the festival. You would throw one into the crowd only to be hit in the head with one only moments later!
Here we go again for 2010.. hopefully not so hot. Nova will be down there snapping some pics.. watch out for us...
