The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers says his solo journey so far has been a wild ride.
Flowers released his first single “Crossfire” back in June and eager fans can’t wait until his full solo delivery Flamingo drops on September 3.
In an exclusive chat with XFM radio in the UK, Flowers said his bandmates were ready for a well-deserved break but he needed to keep creating.
“A couple of the guys in the band want to have a long break and I definitely can’t blame them,” he said.
“I just have this fire that’s still burning and I just wanted to make this record. I love being home and I love my family but I definitely don’t hate being on the road and performing. I’m very lucky that I have a job that I love.”
Flowers said working with top-notch producers – including Stuart Price – has been one hell of an adventure.
“It was great seeing Stuart Price take a song that was very rootsy and traditional and bring it into the future,” he said.
“It was also great having the opposite happen – where I thought a song was going to be very synth-driven and it became a real rock song. It was a really fun experience.”
