Brian McFadden says he "spoke from the heart" when he called ex-wife Kerry Katona a "pig faced mole" in a weekend Twitter rant.
The Just Say So singer revealed to Hughsey and Kate he "lost it" after Katona accused him of being a bad father and doesn't regret the tirade in which he Tweeted that Katona was dead to him.
His outburst was triggered by a story in an English newspaper in which Katona said McFadden spoke to his children just five times a year.
"I was so infuriated when I read it and it was so typical," he said.
"I just lost it and (went) straight on Twitter.
"You know probably the things I said, if I had've sat down and thought about it and spoke to a journalist about it, I wouldn't have said it.
"But at the end of the day I spoke from the heart. I was angry and I got my point across. I might have been a bit over-the-top, but at least I got my point across and I got to vent."
McFadden, who is engaged to Delta Goodrem, said he wanted to bring his girls to Australia but had already lost two custody battles in England.
He hinited they might move down under of their own accord when older.
"Molly's nine in August and Lilly's now seven, so there's only a few more years until they can pretty much do what they want.
"I would like to bring them to Australia one day and I know they want to come."
He also revealed he had nothing to do with Katona: "I don't know her anymore and I don't know what goes through her mind."
