One sleep until the first game of the year for the Brisbane Broncos.
A young side which includes debutant Corey Norman (pictured) is set to go up against the North Queensland Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium.
Broncos CEO Bruno Cullen said his team was happy to be the underdogs in this game.
"It's going to be very new for people like Corey Norman at fullback.. he's a cool kid.. he's not over-confident.. he's not cocky".
Cowboys CEO Peter Parr said North Queensland would not underestimate the Broncos.
"It is a young side.. but full of talent," he said.
"Experience will only count if we're hanging onto the ball and doing all the right things.
"I've seen the Broncos over many years produce many, many talented young players.
"Broncos are still the benchmark as far as I'm concerned in the competition.
Parr also commented on new recruit Willie Mason and said he'd been good for the team and strong at training.
"Hopefully that'll all translate to a good performance on Friday night."
