Sandbags: Council has asked residents in flood-prone areas to collect sandbags from the following locations: Darra Works Depot, Shamrock Rd, Darra; Morningside Works Depot, Redfern Street, Morningside; Newmarket SES Depot, Wilston Rd, Newmarket and Zillmere Works Depot, Jennings Street, Zillmere.

Police are evacuating residents on Dohles Rocks Road, Griffin as well as Goburra Street at Rocklea and McKuulla Street and Skew Street at Sherwood.

Stimpson Road and Brisbane Corso at Fairfield are closed.

Mt Ommaney area under threat with the rising river levels.

PETS ALLOWED AT EVACUATION CENTRE

Domestic pets are able to be accommodated with their owners. Cats are to be brought in a cage or box. Other domestic animals are to be contained. Council animal management staff will be assisting at the evacuation centre.

Please note only 300 dogs are able to be accommodated at the evacuation centre.

Police wish to advise of the following additional reports of road closures/flooding -

• - Dohles Rocks Road is closed.
• - Bells Pocket Road at Strathpine is closed.
• - Mora Street and Brushworth Street at Bald Hills are under water.
• - Strickland Tce at Sherwood has water over the road and is rising.
• - Sydney Street at Newfarm is closed due to rising water.
• - Brisbane Corso at Fairfield has water over the road.

Police wish to advise that the Gateway Motorway at Bald Hills is closed in both directions (north and south bound) at the Bracken Ridge Exit due to water on the road. There have also been reports of kangaroos on the road.

Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes.

Brisbane City Council is asking for people to help fill sandbags in Brisbane at four separate locations - 

• - Darra depot - 38 Shamrock Road, Darra
• - Balmoral depot - 9  Redfern Street, Morningside
• - Zillmere depot - 33 Jennings Street, Zillmere
• - Newmarket depot - 66 Wilson Road, Newmarket
• - Stafford depot - Brockman Street, Stafford 

It is requested that volunteers wear suitable attire including footwear, high visibility clothing is preferable but not essential.

Volunteers can show up any time and are needed urgently overnight.  For any inquiries please contact Allan at Brisbane City Works on 3403 7880.

Brisbane City Council advises an evacuation centre has been set up at the RNA Showgrounds at Bowen Hills for residents affected by floods.

The evacuation centre has been established for those who wish to evacuate of their own accord and cannot be accommodated with family or friends. Please note, there have been no forced evacuations. 

Residents are advised to bring the following with them if they choose to stay at the evacuation centre: Pillows and sheets, any medication, important documents such as insurance papers and spare clothing.

At this stage no pets are able to be accommodated at the evacuation centre so residents should make alternative arrangements to house their pets prior to moving to the evacuation centre.

Camford St, Eagle Terrace and Huxham Terrace are all under water. Milton Road is not currently inundated however traffic is congested.

Sandgate Road near Pedder Street is inundated with water.

Queenswharf Road at North Quay is expected to close immediately. Please avoid the area.

Gympie Road and Lawnton is cut in both directions, no traffic is able to get through.

There is a multiple vehicle crash on Ann Street after George Street.

There is a single truck incident north bound on the Gateway Motorway. Motorists may expect delays in the area.

Secure Parking has lifted the boom gates at all parking in Bris until 4pm today. Exit free

Residents of Caboolture and Dayboro should immediately evacuate to high ground.

All residents in low lying areas of Strathpine and Caboolture should evacuate immediately. Cars should be moved from low lying areas. The flood levels are expected to be greater than the 1974 floods. Do not stay in your homes please leave immediately. (Qld Police Service)

Due to heavy rain fall, the following roads are reported to have water across them in the Brisbane Metropolitan Area:

• - Wacol Station Rd near Sumner Rd, Sumner
• - Muriel Ave and Sherwood Rd, Rocklea.
• - Cunningham Hwy at Harrisville

Motorist should use caution in these areas.

Mt Crosby Road - CHUWAR

Colleges Crossing in Mt Crosby and the Mt Crosby Weir between Allawah Road and Stumers Road, Mt Crosby is closed due to the water being released from the Wivenhoe Dam. Motorists are advised to go via the the Centenary Motorway and use the Jindalee Bridge.

Warrego Highway - GATTON

Motorists are advised that the Warrego Highway is closed in both directions between Helidon and Blacksoil. Motorists are to avoid travelling to the Locker Valley Area and not to use the Warrego Highway or other major roads.

Gatton Helidon Road - GRANTHAM

The Gatton Helidon Road is closed due to flooding. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.

Warrego Highway - HELIDON

The left lane eastbound on the Warrego Highway is closed due pavement damage.

Kholo Bridge - KHOLO

The Kholo Bridge has been closed due to a water release from Wivenhoe Dam.

The Moggill Ferry is out of service.

Gatton-Clifton Road - WINWILL

The Gatton-Clifton Road is closed to all traffic between Doyles Camp Bridge and McGinley's Road. There is a 5 tonne load limit between McGinley's Road and the New England Highway.
Mt Sylvia Road is closed from the second last floodway due to road damage. Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

Warrego Highway - WITHCOTT

The Warrego Highway is closed in both directions at the Toowoomba Range due to numerous landslips. In addition Murphys Creek Road remains closed and as such there is no direct access between Brisbane and Toowoomba on the Warrego Highway at this time. Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.
