Burberry staged their spectacle 3D super show in its home city London on the final day of London Fashion Week last week. The catwalk was broadcasted in 5 cities across the globe and it is the first major design house to do something of this caliber.
Burberry really set this up to be a huge spectacle, having 3D glasses ready for the guests who entered the London premises, as well as those they were invited to view the show across the globe. The cold and windy day in London didn’t stop the guests coming out for the show. Kate Hudson, Anna Wintour, Clare Danes, Mart Kate Olsen, Carey Mulligan and Kristen Stewart plus many more turned up and all looked excited at what appeared In front them.
Kate Hudson told ITN in London “I’m excited about this collection; I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty amazing”. Anna Wintour flew from New York to support the show and was the only show she attended for London Fashion Week.
The creator of the show from the Burberry camp Christopher Bailey has commented on the event being the Avatar of Fashion. The 2010/2011 Womenswear collection was broadcasted in Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, New York and La. The show kicked off late, with guests waiting in Tokyo, LA and Dubai with their funny glasses on patiently. However, once the music started and the 1200 guests in London were seated Burberry did what they do best.
Grasping some of the fashion label’s past trends like Military jackets and lots of fur, the collection left you with an assurance romance and texture were here to stay. Thank god. I was getting so sick of dressing “tough”. This show was Burberry’s first show staged at London Fashion Week for many years and was welcomed “home” with great reviews from people that were there, as well as online users who tuned in from their homes.
