Cheryl Cole won't revert to her maiden name of Tweedy after her divorce, even though Simon Cowell likes it.
The singer has enjoyed most of her success under her married name of Cole and is reluctant to lose the "brand" she has built up by changing her name.
"She's Cheryl Cole now and has spent years building up a successful brand - she's not prepared to turn her back on it. Tweedy doesn't feel right," a source told Metro.
Last week Simon Cowell introduced the Girls Aloud singer as Cheryl Tweedy - her maiden name - at an X Factor audition this week.
"Who would like to hear from Cheryl...Tweedy. It is, now, isn't it?" Simon said to cheers.
Cheryl is divorcing her soccer star husband Ashley after he repeatedly cheated on her during their marriage.
