Nova’s marketing guru, that we know affectionately as Crazy Tan, was on Hughesy and Kate’s Cougar Cruise back on Valentine’s Day. She had a couple of wines, a little boogie, and lots of chit chat with real life cougars. Read what she learnt about having fun with younger men…
ACCORDING to the Channel 7 TV show, a Cougar is a woman aged over 40 who is single and out for a good time – with much younger men (around 10 to 12 years younger). She’s most likely divorced - if she has kids, they’ve moved out of home, and she’s starting a new life … up for anything – especially a party!
Courtney Cox is a hot Cougar in the show, however a lot of the media stories portray Cougars as desperate and lusty women who use up young boys and throw them away. The women on Hughesy & Kate’s Cougar Cruise had a different attitude. Sure, they wanted to pick up, but many were also looking for something a little more long-term than a one night stand. Like a two night / weekend stand maybe?
Tania is a fun and vivacious 41-year-old – not that she looks her age in a Cougar inspired leopard print outfit with matching cat’s ears. Her wingman, Kate, is a little younger and has come along for moral support (see them in this pic ->).
Tania has dated a lot of younger men – ranging from 24 to 30 years old – but her real love is Mediterranean boys and she was pleased to see a few of them on board the boat.
“Younger guys are so much more fun than older men,” Tania said. “They just want to do fun things, they don’t worry about serious stuff or get stressed out. I love that, it makes me feel younger. Just hanging out with them … it’s awesome!”
38-year-old Leilani was having a great time at the party, and loving the range of men under 28.
“Older men have too much baggage,” Leilani said. “They can’t just have a good time and they think that all women want to have relationships when most of us just want to hook up and have fun. Younger guys don’t have any expectations – I love it.”
One of the younger ‘Cougars’, Jane (28) was dancing all night with a range of different Cubs, having a great time as they took their shirts off and gyrated around her. (Nova really knows how to throw a good party – have you noticed?)
“You would never have this much fun with older guys,” Jane laughed. “I’m in Heaven right now – this is my BEST Valentine’s Day ever!”
By the time the boat docked at around 9pm, the Cougars were wrapped happily in ‘champagne blankets’, leaving arm in arm with the equally smitten Cubs. Most kicked on for more drinks at a nearby bar where last-minute hookups and party pashes took place. A few were seen walking off to the cab rank to head home and, um, compare stories of the night.
How many were going home to a Cub’s house to meet his Mum … or would the Cougars take the boys back to their empty nest for a night cap?
One funny story that came out the next morning live on air with Hughesy & Kate was from Dwaine who rang to say he was locked in a Cougar’s house and couldn’t get out. No, it wasn’t kidnapping – she had just taken the kids to school and was coming back for more.
Cougars of Melbourne – Hughesy & Kate salute you (leopard print and all).
