Courtney Love apologizes for spreading rumours about her daughter

Love, of course, apologized via Twitter - the same medium she started the rumours on.

She accused Grohl of being "a gross old man macking on Kurt Cobain's only child."

Bean and Grohl both responded to the comments. Grohl was emphatic in his denial of the rumours, writing in a statement: "These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."

Bean was similarly emphatic, "While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother," she wrote. "Her recent tirade has takena gross turn.

"I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy."

Love has since changed her tune, reaching out to Bean on Twitter.

"Bean sorry I believed the gossip. Mommy loves you."
