Courtney Love says she is devastated she burned a collection of Marc Jacobs clothes in the '90s.
The singer and her late husband Kurt Cobain were gifted the designer’s famous grunge collection in 1992. At the time the couple was renowned for their kooky dress sense and their chaotic home life. They both took drugs, and Courtney says they struggled to be a part of normal society.
“Marc sent me and Kurt his Perry Ellis grunge collection. Do you know what we did with it? We burned it. We were punkers - we didn’t like that kind of thing,” she said. “I recently found a bonnet and pair of blue shoes from it. I was so relieved. These pieces were part of me and Kurt living in a trench and surviving the war. We just didn’t deal with life.”
Courtney can’t believe she torched the collection as she now respects fashion. She has been schooled in high fashion by designer Karl Lagerfeld and enjoys seeking out one-of-a-kind pieces.
Speaking of clothes, she also recently launched a website and blog, which features pictures of her in outfits which bloggers on the site write about.
