Shutter Island, the new thriller by master movie-maker Martin Scorsese was actually due to be released last October, but setbacks and (so we hear) a few problems with the old cash flow meant it was pushed back to today.
But that's fine with us - we can all head out to the movies for a good old Friday night scare with the man we've loved since Titanic. Ah Leo, how you've grown.
Leonardo DiCaprio was out last night in NYC with model girlfriend Bar Refaeli, Martin Scorsese and Mark Ruffalo. Apparently they all enjoyed a lovely dinner at Armani Ristorante and celebrated the release of the movie in true superstar style. Big bucks were spent at the bar. That's the one in the restaurant, not Leo's lady, of course (ahem).
Shutter Island is actually based on the 2003 novel of the same name, by author Dennis Lehane. The plot follows two U.S Marshalls who in 1954, investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane on a creepy windswept island in Massachusetts. The guys run into trouble when they're deceived by the hospital's chief administrator, a hurricane strikes and they uncover a sinister experiment. We're feeling goosebumps already.
If you see it this weekend, don't forget to let us know what you think!
Shutter Island stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Michelle Williams. Directed by Martin Scorsese.
