UK artist Dizzee Rascal recently made UK chart history when he became the first male solo artist to have four #1 songs off the same album. So how does he feel about being named GQ's fourth "Coolest Man in the World"? More to the point, what does he think of Prince Harry and Robert Pattinson beating him in the poll? NovaFM caught up with him to find out.
During a phone call with The Action Battle Team's Maz, Matt and Dan, Dizzee discussed the hit-packed re-packaged Tongue N' Cheek: Dirtee Deluxe album.
"I'm feeling the situation, I'm not gonna lie about it. It's good man, especially when the album is so upbeat. It must be even better over there [in Australia] because you've got constant sun. You know what I mean? It's an album that really, really works in the sun. I'd love to go back there this year, any excuse to go to Australia."
At the time of release, track "Bonkers" sent crowds crazy and it seems he's still getting an extremely warm response to it. He explained all to NovaFM's Maz Compton.
"Yeah, it's outrageous that song man. I feel so lucky and blessed - I got a bit lucky with that; it was kind of put on my lap. I think it was given to another artist before me but they turned it down so it could have been a whole different story."
But of course, Dizzee's success isn't only of the musical variety. He also landed fourth spot in the GQ Magazine "Coolest Man In The World" poll. So, how does he feel about the ginger, the whiny vampire and the assistant that beat him to the post?
Prince Harry: "Nah, I'm cooler than him"
Robert Pattinson: "I'm definitely cooler, I've seen that Twilight and I'm cooler than him"
Barack Obama's Assistant: "Assistant? Nah, this is a shambles... I'm not happy about this. I'm going to have to go and make some complaints and talk to some people. I could easily be number one in that list."
"I've seen that nonsense and getting beaten up by a werewolf and all that... get out of here. As I said, I'm cooler than any whiny vampire."
Dizzee also admitted that he's "Pretty good at pissing people off."
Chances are he's not popular with the Twi-hards out there - but then again, when you're that cool, who gives a rats? Just ask Prince Harry.
