Ed Sheeran producing next One Direction album, praises Taylor Swift

Perez Hilton reports that Sheeran said, "I wrote a couple of songs when I was 17 that One Direction want for their next album... I'm going into the studio in August to produce the tracks for them."

He also said that there is "definitely a divide in genre", though, so there may not be collaborations between the 21-year-old "Lego House" singer and his five friends.

Sheeran also talked to Pop Crush about collaborating with Taylor Swift, saying that she was "so down to earth, head and shoulders" and that he was surprised by "just how cool she was".

"Taylor's been in it for six years and she's 22," he said, "and you hear horror stories about younger musicians who kind of go a bit off the rails, but she's so together and so kind of professional and knows what she wants, but... isn't too harsh — she's just a really sweet gentle person — so yeah, that's what surprised me, is that she was sound."
