The Fast Five... “Back in Time” - Pitbull

1)      It’s the theme song for Men in Black 3 that is due out in cinemas 24^th May 2012 and is set to star Lady Gaga.

2)      The reason he got the gig to write the song for the film was thanks to the director’s (Barry Sonnenfeld) daughter. The 19 year old told her dad that Mr Pit was the guy for the job.

3)      The brief from the movie company was to write a song about going back in time which is where the lyric “to understand the future we have to go back in time” came from.

4)      The song samples a 1950’s track “Love is Strange” which went to number 1 for an R&B duo Mickey and Sylvia.

5)      The first $1,500 that Pitbull ever made,  he gave $1,200 of it to his Mum. With the cash injection she bought a Mazda 2/3 hatchback.
