First look: G.I Joe – Retaliation

Following Rise of The Cobra the Joes are back for retaliation and this time around not only are they fighting their mortal enemy, the cobra, they’re forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

Due for release in August 2012 G.I. Joe: Retaliation is the follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I Joe: Rise Of The Cobra which grossed over $300 million worldwide.

The movie is action, guns, full-on explosions; well and truly ticking the ‘lights and movement’ box. With the Rock and ‘Classic Bruce’ the movie has it’s funny moments and while it could come close to cheese factor with those two boys in the same room only time will tell how close to the line the movie will walk.

You’ll be able to tell who is bring what to the party when you take a look at who is in the engine room of this blockbuster. With titles like Transformers, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen under his belt, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing the flick. Writers behind the movie are Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – who also wrote Zombieland and Directed by Jon M. Chu who most recently directed – Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is in cinemas August 2, 2012.
