This is a super strange story...of an artist who converted his dead cat, into a helicopter!
The chopper was created by Dutch artist Bart Jansen. It was first shown to the public at the KunstRai ArtFair 2012, in Amsterdam
Jansen calls his creation the Orvillecopter and describes it as "half-cat, half-machine."
The cat was not harmed, it belonged to Jansen and was cared for until it was hit by a car.
"After that he received his wings posthumously," the artist writes in a description of a YouTube video showing the Orvillecopter's first flight.
Jansen says he did observe a period of mourning before turning his dead cat into a flying machine, but now is happy that he can let his cat now take flight
"Now he is flying with the birds," he writes. "The greatest goal a cat could ever reach!"
