Remember The Fray's performance on last year's finale of The X Factor? Looked smooth, right? Apparently, behind the scenes it was a bit more manic!
"The X Factor was hilarious," Isaac Slade laughs. "We had a bunch of rehearsals - it was live on air so there was a whole different element to doing it live that you never really know. If something wrong happens, you're screwed.
"Andrew [Wishart] was a little older - he was the underdog for sure, and we got paired up with him for playing a song with him live, and right before we went on air my piano got unplugged and it's like a two-minute restart so everybody was scrambling...
"If you watch the show, everything just cut straight to the judges and the host, but behind the scenes everybody was freaking out, running around like chickens with their heads cut off, waiting for my piano to boot back up again.
"I looked over at Andrew and he was white as a sheet, wondering if this was his shot quickly evaporating, and right before they called it the piano turned back on and we played, and Andrew nailed it."

Despite the madness, though, The Fray's frontman says that the show was "so fun to be a part of - Australia had been watching for weeks and weeks and weeks."
The Fray's new album, Scars and Stories, is out now through Sony, along with new single "Run For Your Life".
