Garbage singer Shirley Manson receiving death threats on Twitter
Shirley Manson, the fiery frontwoman of Garbage, has been receiving abusive messages and death threats over Twitter, according to reports.
The singer's manager, Paul Kremen, contacted the police after she was subjected to hundreds of abusive messages from Twitter user Gunn2urhead.
The user, known as Ray Gunn on the social networking site, has not tweeted at Manson since June 21, but in one day sent over 200 messages to her, including "SO YOU WANT TO KILL YOU OR MYSELF?", "IM GONNA KILL U B*TCH!!!!!!!" and accusing her on cheating on her husband.
Los Angeles police have issued a search warrant requesting information from Twitter executives about the account.
The warrant reads, "[Manson] stated that she is in great fear for her and her family's safety due to the nature of the threats, the sheer volume of them and the 'crazy' sounding messages being posted towards her. She stated she has never had anything like this on this level occur to her and she is very frightened and wants the threats to be investigated fully."
