Good Vibes hit the Gold Coast on Saturday and it went off!
The sun was beaming, the sweat was pouring, the music was pumping and the festi-goers were loving it!
Bluejuice kicked off early drawing in a huge crowd at the main stage pumping out "Broken Leg" and "Ain’t Telling the Truth", followed by Arts VS Science who had the crowd dancing their arses off to "Parlez Vous Francais".
Meanwhile Kid Cudi was ripping it up at the Roots Tent and thousands headed over to check it out.
The Mr J Tent was always going off - the perfect spot for in between sets - if you weren’t keen on the DJ sets on the main stage.
The same for the Laundry Tent which always had a good crowd.
And then it came… just past 4 o’clock… crowds swarming in… sweaty bodies rubbing against each other… main stage …Salt-n-Pepper’s HERE!!!!!!!
It was everything expected and more! They pumped out a couple of newbies Big Girls and Hate On, put on a crowd sing-a-long of various 80’s and 90’s hits and then they did it… the one… the only… PUSH IT!!!
And that’s what the crowd did - bringing out dance moves that only gymnasts should be attempting!
After a well earned rest it was back to the main stage where Beth Ditto led The Gossip through an awesome set with the highlights being Heavy Cross and Love Long Distance.
A quick jump to Mr J Tent saw Spinderella put on one of the best DJ sets of the day.
And if the crowd started to tire… it didn’t take long before Basement Jaxx pumped everyone back up again. Always a crowd pleaser Where’s Your Head
At had everyone bouncing back into action. And just in time for the act of the day!
I had high hopes for The Killers…knowing how lucky we were they came to Queensland… a massive performance was in order The Killers topped the night off with the performance of the day!
Opening with Somebody Told Me… followed by a bunch of songs including Bones… a Human tribute to Brandon Flowers’ mum who passed away, a favourite Mr Brightside, and an encore finish with When We Were Young, it couldn’t have been a better end to an awesome day!
