The current Paramore tour marks the fourth time Relient K have landed on Australian shores and it's a welcome chance for some guaranteed full-houses.
Speaking to NovaFM ahead of the band's show in Sydney tonight, singer Matt Thiessen says the stadium level of this tour is making all the difference.
"Being the support band is fun because we're not selling the tickets but we're reaping the benefits," he laughs.
It's also a chance for the band to play in front of packed rooms which many bands take for granted. Thiessen says rock shows in the US haven't been immune from the Global Finiancial Crisis.
"The economy is a little rough so people are not buying so many tickets," he says. "Everyone talks about album sales but there is also bands who have come home with their tails between their legs. It's also over-saturated too in The States. Everyone is in a band and for a while people were going to shows even if they didn't want to see them."
The band has a few tricks in-store for Australian fans with Thiessen also saying there could be some Silverchair songs making an appearance mid-set.
But regarding Australian bands NovaFM had to break some news of our own to Thiessen.
"Hopefully we'll be able to see Bodyjar - I'm a big fan - or The Living End while we're down," he says.
Er, Matt... The 'Jar are no more, pal.
"What? They broke up? I had a feeling you were about to say that," he says with a sigh. "That happens."
The band has these dates remaining.
Friday, October 15 - Entertainment Centre, Sydney
Sunday, October 17 - Riverstage, Brisbane
