We’re a teeny bit embarrassed to admit that today’s news about David and Victoria Beckham deciding to sell Beckingham Palace has made us a little bit sad. It’s the end of an era for crying out loud!
It’s been reported that the Los Angeles based couple have put their famous English home on the market for a whopping £18m and they’re also selling their luxury mansion in France for £2.5m amid reports they are keen to cut all ties with Europe. We feel so rejected.
A source told The Mirror, ‘David and Victoria have been wanting to sell up for a couple of years now but the timing was never right.
‘They didn’t want to lose money, putting their homes up for sale during a slump in the property market. So, after getting it valued two years ago, decided to hold off until now.’
And it sounds like it was worth the wait as David and Victoria only paid £2.5m for Beckingham Palace back in 2000 so if somebody is crazy enough to fork out £18m for the 7-bedroom house with 24 acres of land they’ll have made quite a handsome profit!
However the source continued, ‘They don’t need the money, as such, but no longer use either place and realise in this current climate it’s crazy to effectively throw cash away.’
Okay so much for feeling sad, they’re just making us jealous now. Bore off.
