As her divorce is finalised, Katy Perry’s new man plans to move to LA

Even though Katy Perry and Russell Brand signed their divorce agreement back in February, under Californian law the two had to wait for six months until it became official - which it did over the weekend.

But the sting was taken out of that for Katy Perry by the news that her new piece of meat – aka Rob Ackroyd – is planning to swap his Hackney pad for one in LA so that he can be close to the singer. A source close to the two said:

“Katy doesn’t want to make the same mistakes she made with Russell. The long distance thing didn’t work so if she’s going to settle down again, it needs to be with someone who can be close at hand when she needs them.

“It will also take some compromising on her part. But Rob is making the move overseas towards the end of the year. It seems really sudden but it’s now or never for them.”

Meanwhile at a gig this week Katy’s ex-husband Russell Brand seemed to suggest that behind the scenes the divorce between him and the singer had not been so smooth as first thought.
