In the biography Who's Laughing Now: The Story Of Jessie J, author Chloe Govan wrote, "Jessie might have been with boys in the past — but she is 100 per cent gay. Jessie was openly lesbian and didn’t hide it."
Govan went on to allege that Jessie J came out as a lesbian at the age of 17, but was "advised not to come out... Certain people thought being bi was trendy, exotic and a fashion statement". She wrote that record executives were worried her sexuality would "alienate people" and feared a "career-damaging backlash".
The British singer has hit back through her Twitter account, denying the claims. She tweeted:
"Its funny how many people I've datedslept with that I've never even met according to the tabloids. BUT what's that?! *whispers because its a secret* I'm really a lesbian?! Ha! Thanks for writing yet another boring untrue story. I thought I was still dating Tinie, NO Ellie G, NO Mark Wright....bla bla bla! #cantkeepup #noneofitstrue
