Rain has robbed fans of a night of live music as iTunes set up in Sydney tonight to stream John Butler and Dan Sultan performances for the 2010 ARIA Awards.
Dan Sultan was unable to take the stage due to electrocution concerns after a downpour. John Butler eventually set up in a sheltered back corner of the stage and was able to treat fans to just two songs before another storm front set in.
However, to bolster spirits of saturated punters, ARIA and iTunes gave free tickets to all those in attendance to Sunday's ARIA Awards ceremony at the Sydney Opera House. Not a bad score at al!
Three awards were also handed out. Parkway drive won Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album for Deep Blue, Jeff Lang won Best Blues & Roots album for Chimeradour, and the Best Music DVD award was shared among various artists for the Sound Relief DVD.
For each night of the rest of the week, Washington, Guy Sebastian, Sia and Angus & Julia Stone will perform exclusively for iTunes and Nova on the Sydney Harbour Foreshore.
In an Australian first, you can watch these performances live via the iTunes Live app on iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. You can also catch what you missed or relive your favourite moments by watching the recorded performances — for free — for up to seven days following the concerts.
You can also tune into Nova at 10pm AEST each night to hear these exclusive performances from some of Australia's greatest artists and key nominees for the 2010 ARIA Awards.
