Justin Bieber has become the youngest person to ever be crowned Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards.
The 16-year-old won four awards, including the coveted title, beating out Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Ke$ha.
“My fans are amazing,” Bieber said.
“I really got this opportunity about a year and a half ago, and really was embraced by a man named Usher Raymond. I feel like he’s had such an amazing career. It would be only right if I invite him up here to share it with me,” Bieber said.
“He’s not only my mentor but my best friend and my big brother. I love you man.”
Bieber was also crowned Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Favourite Pop/Rock Male Artist and Favourite Pop Album for My World 2.0.
“Without my fans, this would not be possible,” said Bieber. “I come from the smallest town in the world of, like, 30,000 people.
“I never thought this was possible. I can’t stop smiling, this is amazing. Truly I don’t know how this is possible, I’ve been singing Eminem since I was, you know, 3. Usher is my mentor, you know, so this is big.”
