Budget schmudget... How do you get bang for your student buck? I've thoroughly researched which of Dan Murphy's $3.90 sav blanc's are actually drinkable, the best BYO restaurants in melbourne (Chinatown), and to head to south melbourne markets around 2pm on a sunday (fresh fruit and vegies all discounted). And along with most medical students i've discovered that doctors get HEAPS of free stuff - therefore it's just a matter of hanging a stethoscope around my neck and i gain access to drug-company funded free lunches!
Melbourne men need to... what? follow in the footsteps of Callum off masterchef and learn to cook something other than protein shakes. and maybe stop idolising AFL players - they are not the most ideal role models.
What big issues concern you? (spare us the World Peace crap) The Diabetes tsunami that is about to wipe out Australia (and the rest of the world). every second patient i see in hospital has diabetes, and our health system is being overwhelmed. The government needs to enforce measures such as taxes on junk food and subsidising gym memberships. Of particular importance is education for parents and children - the real problem is going to be in 20 years time when the incidence of diabetes overtakes that of non-diabetic individuals.
Name three songs that describe you? Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - dance the way I feel (i'm the world's most terrible dancer - unfortunately it doesn't stop me trying). The Strokes - you only live once. Kid Cudi - pursuit of happiness.
Why should you be Miss Univers-ity? Just over halfway through a Bachelor of medicine/surgery degree, but i still have sooooo long to go. i've definitely suffered my share of alcohol-induced headaches through 8am anatomy lectures; endured the boredom of retail work every staurday only to spend the earnings that night; and squished in runs or gym sessions somewhere in between. and this is the actually the best prize i have ever seen. quite simply it would make life so much sweeter:)
