After a proposal on New Years Eve in 2009 and a lavish, fairytale Indian wedding only 14 months ago, one of the paprazzi's favourite couples has split up with Russell Brand having officially filing for divorce from Katy Perry.
The rumours were that the relationship between the pop star and her stand-up comic/actor husband was on the rocks for a while. The two spending Christmas apart and were also snapped without their wedding rings on which only seemed to confirm that trouble was afoot.
Russell Brand's lawyers filed the divorce papers in a Los Angeles court on Friday, according to TMZ, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason. Brand released a ststement soon after stating, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."
