Kirsty Thatcher wins The Original Dolly Model Search

Beating six finalists vying for the crown, 13-year-old Kirsty Thatcher has won the same competition that launched Miranda Kerr and Jessica Hart's modelling career.

As well as appearing on the cover of the August issue of DOLLY, Kirsty has won a year long ambassador role with DOLLY magazine, a modelling contract with Chadwick Models and a trip to New York to met with their affiliated US agencies.

“I’ve loved getting to know the six finalists and all of them have incredibly bright futures ahead,” says DOLLY editor Tiffany Dunk. “However at the end of the day we had to pick a winner. Kirsty really impressed all of us with her great attitude, well-balanced lifestyle and range of interests and achievements outside of the modelling world. We were looking for a girl who will be both relatable and inspirational to our readers and we’ve definitely found that in Kirsty.” she said. 

There was a month-long national roadshow tour during March in search for a fresh face and an ambassador for the magazine. One finalist was announced at each roadshow stop-off. One online finalist was also chosen from those who couldn’t attend the roadshows.

The August issue of DOLLY is on sale July 16.
