Hey Hey it's Saturday just scored a massive coup, confirming the princess of pop, Kylie Minogue, will perform on the show on Wednesday 21 July.
Minogue is set to perform two songs -- current single "All The Lovers" and a second from her forthcoming album Aphrodite -- and stay for the entire show. According to Channel Nine she will appear in at least one segment, most likely 'Red Faces' or 'Celebrity Head'.
For her performance Minogue will be accompanied by 25 dancers and will be bringing her UK-based choreographer to Australia for the appearance.
"I’ve always, always, always loved [Hey Hey it's Saturday] and I’m going to be with you on July 21st. I’m going to come play with you and perform my new single so look out – and Dickie, I don’t want any grief from you," Minogue warned in a statement released by Channel Nine.
The appearance on Hey Hey it's Saturday will mark Minogue's first official performance on Australian television in ten years. Last year Minogue was a surprise performer at Melbourne's Sound Relief event which was broadcast on Channel V.
"This is so exciting for all of us,” host Daryl Somers declared. "Kylie is a world-class artist. It’s wonderful to see how career has taken off and realise we were there on the ground floor when she started.
"It will be like catching up with an old mate. She has remarked to me over the years how much she loved the show. I guess she grew up watching it, like so many other people. Then she became involved in the show throughout her early career. So it’s wonderful we’re still around to welcome her back."
