Lady Gaga is in the country performing sell-out shows on her Australian Monster Ball tour and admitted to Nova FM’s Ryan Shelton, Katie 'Monty' Diamond and Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli that her video clip is similar to “soft porn.”
After asked about what it was like filming her new “Telephone” video clip with Beyonce, Gaga says that she trusts Beyonce because so much of the premise of the video is a sexual flirtatious style of acting. She described it as being similar to “soft porn.”
Gaga had plenty of nice things to praise Beyonce about, saying “I really like her so much. I meet so many people that I really don’t like so I really like her and she’s nice and she’s just a good person and she deserves everything that’s come to her and more and I can’t wait to see what more she’s going to do.”
So has Lady Gaga gone completely gaga for Beyonce? That hasn’t been confirmed, but speaking about the difference between her old and new video clips, Lady Gaga says that this time around “The themes were more centered around homosexual themes than they were around straight themes.”
During the revealing interview with Nova FM, Lady Gaga took the opportunity to air her views on homosexuality along with a story about some of her close gay friends.
“I had a lot of really close gay friends, some of which didn’t even know they were gay, but once they got into the real world you don’t even realize how much discrimination there is and hatred. I’ve got very close friends that have been hit over the head with bottles while walking home at night, just really horrible stuff.”
Gaga also said that she finds it interesting that parents find it invasive to talk about homosexuality, saying “…in my opinion we’re just confronting what’s already really there.”
