Leona Lewis' ex-boyfriend wants more than $2 million because he reckons he helped her get famous.
Music industry scout Lou Al-Chamaa wants more than $2 million of Leona's earnings because he helped her fill out the paperwork for The X Factor audition.
Leona won the talent show in 2006, but split from her boyfriend of 10 years earlier this year when her hectic schedule became too much.
“He believes he has played a huge role in Leona's success. They have been together for more than 10 years and he has encouraged her to fulfil her potential," a friend told The Sun.
"He believes he has the rights of a common-law husband."
Al-Chamaa also claims he introduced Leona to his contacts, scoring her recording opportunities she would otherwise have not had.
Leona reportedly offered Lou the home they shared in the London area of Hackney, which is worth more than $1 million, but he turned it down.
"He claims he owns a piece of some of her songs and should benefit financially. It looks like it could get messy," The Sun reported.
Al-Chamaas' demands for a settlement have been met with disapproval from fans in the UK, who've called him money hungry.
But the guy sounds like a pretty supportive faux-hubby who would have got a payout if they had've married. Unfortunately this sounds like a case of the old double standard.
