Today was the official launch of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and there was a great turn out to receive the official program.
The Event was MC-ed by our very own Carrie Bickmore and different officials spoke about their connection to the festival and what it does for Melbourne. Laura Anderson and Karen Webster, the Festival chairman and Festival director respectively, focused on the cultural approach the Fashion Festival has on the community, commenting that there is now over 100 cultural events over the festival up from 60 last year. Check them out here.
Laura Anderson discussed the inspiration behind some of the creative geniuses involved, and the focus the organisation had on new talent.
The shows are exciting as ever with a steller line up of designers to open the festival on Monday 15th March including Alice McCall, camilla and marc, Collette Dinigan, Fluer Wood, LIFEwithBIRD, Nicola Finnetti and sass & bide.
The festival will also have a huge focus on independent designers.
