New Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge will line up with Collingwood’s Dale Thomas as AFL experts for Nova 100’s Hughesy and Kate in 2011.
Luke will join Hughesy and Kate on Monday mornings to discuss the weekend’s matches and any topical issues that arise in the AFL.
“Men want to be him, women want to be with him,” Hughesy said. “He is brilliant. The only problem is Luke plays for Hawthorn but I’ll have to deal with that.”
Hodge will take up the Hawthorn captaincy in 2011, having been vice-captain since 2008. The No. 1 draft pick from the infamous 2001 AFL draft, Hodge has made himself one of the AFL’s elite players, being named captain of the All Australian team in 2010 and winning the Norm Smith Medal for being best-on-ground in Hawthorn’s premiership win in 2008.
“It is great to be a part of the Nova team for 2011,” Hodge said. “I can’t wait for the early Monday mornings to join Hughesy and Kate in the studio after a big win by the Hawks!”
Collingwood’s Dale Thomas will return to Nova 100’s Hughesy and Kate for a second year after re-signing as Nova’s Friday morning football expert for the 2011 season.
After playing his best football in the 2010 AFL season, experts described Dale as the most consistent player in this year’s historic two Grand Finals, in which Collingwood ultimately won the premiership.
“I can’t wait to have Daisy back,” Ed said. “I want him to wear his Mad Monday outfit each week, fake fur vest and hat, he never looked better.”
