Series two of MasterChef is fast approaching (and we’ve got the scoop... there’s some hot contestants in the mix). They’ve all been chosen and Channel Ten is well into the filming process. NovaFM’s Ricki-Lee Coulter hit the launch event to get the judge’s lowdown on what to expect from the show. It sure sounds juicy. For the record, the canapés were too.
“We’re half way through now and we’re loving it. It’s fun doing a second series because you’re kind of liberated. We’ve been a bit more creative in terms of the challenges.” – Judge Matt Preston.
Fellow judge Gary Mehigan agreed.
“There’s always pressure to ramp it up and make the challenges bigger; and they are – they’re massive. I keep asking myself how we’re going to make it better than this one and we do. Every time we make a new challenge I think it’s impossible and then we go on to the next one and I go “Oh my God”."
Last year’s winner Julie Goodwin also seemed pumped.
“I’m very, very excited to be here. It’s sort of a strange feeling because I haven’t set foot in the place since the finale so it’s a funny sort of feeling to come back. I’m looking forward to meeting the next batch of contestants.“
But the real dirt came when Preston revealed the true recipe for a successful season.
“You know what the secret was though… the secret was stopping the stupid cooking stuff and making it all about concreting. Concreting and rendering – now we have a show; MasterConcreter is going to rate amazingly well, the pressure is off!”
You heard it here first tradies.
