Here's my run down of the AFL matches from the Round 2 Easter weekend...
Brisbane beat Carlton by 19 points at Gabba
“How’s it feel to play second fiddle Fev?” That’s about all the Carlton fans could say after Lions captain Jonathan Brown tore apart the Blues, taking ex-Blue Brendan Fevola along for the ride.
Collingwood beat Melbourne by 1 point at MCG
Was I the only one laughing as Melbourne found a way to lose? Why does everyone feel sorry for them? Every sport needs a team that’s brilliant at losing. We’ve got Melbourne.
Port Adelaide beat West Coast by 3 points at Subiaco
West Coast will be good just as soon as they can stop passing it directly to the opposition with every second kick.
St Kilda beat North Melbourne by 104 points at Etihad Stadium
That’s what I like to call ‘getting violated’.
Sydney beat Adelaide by 43 points at AAMI Stadium
Can’t work out Sydney or Adelaide yet. I’ve tipped Adelaide both weeks and they’ve lost twice. And I was sure Sydney would finally be proper crap this year.
Fremantle beat Essendon by 44 points at Etihad Stadium
So Fremantle are good now? Is that what we’re saying? This is going to take some getting used to.
Western Bulldogs beat Richmond by 72 points at MCG
Most of the Richmond players looked like they’re a chance for a ride in the Melbourne Cup. Which is probably a lot better option than playing football for the Tigers this year.
Geelong beat Hawthorn by 9 points at MCG
Cracking game, both teams just ran and took risks and it made for a great spectacle. Hawthorn should have won though.
Last word
Two Melbournians are being charged with theft for not returning a suitcase they bought from the Salvos that had $100,000 cash inside! (OK so this bit isn't exactly to do with the AFL but I just read it and wanted to share.)
