M.I.A. has taken aim at a New York Times reporter who is believed to have offended her in a recent story.
The outspoken Sri Lankan singer told her followers to ring 'her' to discuss the truth, but she didn't post her own phone number.
"(phone number) CALL ME IF YOU WANNA TALK TO ME ABOUT THE N Y T TRUTH ISSUE, ill b taking calls all day bitches ;)," she wrote.
"NEWS IS AN OPINION! UNEDITED VERSION OF THE INTERVIEW WILL BE ON neetrecordings THIS MEMORIAL WEEKEND!!! >>>>"
Rather than posting her own number, M.I.A. tweeted the phone number for journalist Lynn Hirschberg's office.
Hirschberg told the NY Observer she was infuriated by her actions. "It's a fairly unethical thing to do, but I don't think it's surprising," she said. "She's a provocateur, and provocateurs want to be provocative."
