The Aussie selectors seem to think Michael Clarke’s going back to New Zealand, no matter whether Clarke, Bingle, Fev or whoever think otherwise.
The Aussie vice-captain was named in the test side today to take on the Kiwis later this month.
Clarke is currently in Australia despite the one-day cricket team being in New Zealand, to be with fiancé Lara Bingle who recently had a nude photo (originally taken by AFL star Brendan Fevola) seen by the entire country.
There’s media reports that Clarke is back to call off his engagement with Bingle, which may appease the overwhelming majority of people who voted in THIS poll saying ‘Pup’ is no longer fit to captain Australia.
Naming Clarke is not a guarantee he’ll be back in New Zealand though. A cricket official has been quoted today as saying they’re only “hopeful” he’ll return for the test series.
Anyway, we’re going to talk cricket for a second… tune out now if you’re just here for the scandals…
The squad for the two-test series against New Zealand is as follows: Ricky Ponting (c) (TAS), Michael Clarke (vc) (NSW), Doug Bollinger (NSW), Brad Haddin (NSW), Nathan Hauritz (NSW), Ryan Harris (QLD), Phillip Hughes (NSW), Mike Hussey (WA), Mitchell Johnson (WA), Simon Katich (NSW), Clint McKay (VIC), Marcus North (WA), Steven Smith (NSW), and Shane Watson (NSW).
Ryan Harris and Steve Smith will be looking for their first baggy greens.
The test matches start on 19 March and 27 March.
