Don’t you just love modern technology?
Not only do we have the pedicure power of Ped Eggs, the joy of iPhones, the surreal (and depressing) 3D world of Avatar and the minefield of plastic surgery… we also have the power to bring back the dead. Kind of.
Michael Jackson is the latest dead celebrity to return from wherever Pop kings go when they cark it… all thanks to the masterminds behind 3D holograms. He’s not just coming back for a holiday either; he’s going to perform at the Grammy Awards. Jacko will perform the “Earth Song” segment from his This Is It tour that never happened due to his death.
It’s sure to be a moving spectacle and features a recording of Michael’s vocals and a never-before-seen video highlighting the plight of the planet and its wildlife. Americans will have their own set of 3D glasses so that they can watch on and get the full impact. He will be joined on stage by Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson and Usher. You won’t need your 3D glasses for that lot though.
Jacko will also be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Other (living) performers at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards include Beyonce Knowles, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink, Bon Jovi and the Black Eyed Peas. Britney Spears and her fake British accent however... well, that’s anyone’s guess.
