Although Australia's Next Top Model runner-up Kelsey Martinovich says the live finale announcement error left her feeling "humiliated", she isn't blaming Sarah Murdoch.
Martinovich and the correct winner Amanda Ware have both jumped to the defence of Murdoch who announced the wrong winner live on air.
The reality television host unwittingly created what will become one of the most memorable events in live television history when she incorrectly announced the Australia's Next Top Model winner as Kelsey last night.
Watch the announcement mistake here.
It wasn't until Kelsey was mid-way through her acceptance speech that Murdoch had to intervene and pronounce the correct winner as Amanda.
Video of the incident has gone viral, with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest labelling it his "worst nightmare", and rumours circulating that it was a publicity stunt.
But judge Alex Perry said he'd stake his life that it was an "honest mistake", while the two girls most affected have both leaped to the defense of Foxtel and Murdoch.
"There is no way this was a stunt. It was a genuine honest mistake," Amanda told Sky News.
"You saw the look on Sarah's face. She was devastated."
Listen to Amanda explain what went wrong here.
Kelsey, who handled the uncomfortable situation with poise and grace, said Murdoch "was just apologetic. She felt horrible, the fact she had to deliver that news.
"They would never want to put somone in that position.
"I felt so bad for Sarah Murdoch to have to deliver that information."
She said the first she knew of the error was when Murdoch's face fell as a teleprompter and stage manager holding a sign delivered the news of the error.
"I could just see this look in Sarah's eyes...I thought I've just got to give her a big hug," Kelsey said.
Kelsey, who was happily still given $25,000 cash and a trip to New York, told NovaFM she felt somewhat humiliated but that the international press she'd received since the stuff up had made up for it.
"It would have been hilarious if I chucked a bit of a tantrum on stage. But it's all good now and I think we're all a little bit shocked," she said.
"It was a little bit humiliating, but I went on the show to put my face out there and I think that has kind of worked out in the end."
The magazine that agreed long ago to feature the winner on its cover said it will be asking hard questions as to what went wrong.
Foxtel have so far blamed the announcement mix up on "human error".
Harper's Bazaar editor Edwina McCann said the network had been favouring Amanda as a winner and they left the phone lines open longer to get her over the line.
"I'm told that it came down to three votes," she told Today.
The magazine is now rumoured to be splitting its print run so it can run alternate covers of Kelsey and Amanda.
It will be on sale from October 18 and features Amanda wearing the Miu Miu dress that has already covered at least four international fashion mags.
