The album follows their 2009 debut Sigh No More, which spawned massive singles including "Little Lion Man" and cemented them as a favourite in Australia.
Babel is produced by Markus Dravs, who was behind the band's debut and has also worked with Arcade Fire.
Mumford and Sons said in a statement, "As a band, we’ve never been closer or more collaborative, all working to our strengths. And so we feel that this record is a natural progression that we’re proud of, and we cannot wait to take it out on the road."
