ARE YOU GROOVIN THE MOO THIS WEEKEND?

Kate Mac gives you all you need to know...

Where: Hay Park, Bunbury, WA
When: Sat 14th May, 2011 (THIS SATURDAY)
Time: 10.30am -10.30pm
Age Limit: IT'S AN ALL AGES GIG!

CAN'T GO? CHECK OUT ALL THE INFO FOR THE BANDS' SIDE GIGS BY CLICKING THE LINKS BELOW!

Don't think Groovin The Moo is your thing? Maybe have another think.

If you're looking to broaden your tasty selection of music and test your palate you don't want to miss this years much-loved GTM. Over the past year Nova has been testing the waters with some of the bands hitting up our regional land this weekend and listeners have been guzzling it down. Let me just remind you exactly who some of these bands are - because you may remember you loved 'that song' when you heard it on the radio and didn't quite catch what or who it was.

You've heard these guys on Nova:

Art Vs Science:
The Sydney dance band - we've thrashed these guys on Nova ever since the killer track "Parlez-Vous Francais?" was released. Other hit tracks from them include "Magic Fountain" and "Finally See Our Way".

The Aston Shuffle:
Now here's a name you would have heard from time to time but not quite got to know but we've played these guys on Nova. They're a house music duo from Canberra, Australia. They're known for doing some remix's of Claude VonStroke's 'The Whistler' and Pnau's 'Baby'  but you'll recognise them from their track "Start Again."

Birds of Tokyo:
You may has well have been living in a cave if you don't recognise this name. They're from Perth and are one of our favourite local acts to play on Nova. Their biggest recent hit is "Plans."

Bliss n Eso:
Here's one for the hip hop fans. They're ARIA Award winning and are from Sydney. You may have heard "Down By The River" on our airwaves from time to time as well as the track "The Sea Is Rising."

Boy & Bear: Now these guys you may not be so familiar with, they are fairly new. If you love your indi folk and choral harmonies these Sydney guys will float your boat. They supported Mumford and Son's on their tour of australia and made headlines with their track Rabbit Song. They literally just released their new single Feeding Lines this month.

Cut Copy:
Now I know I don't need to emphasize who these guys are - they've been around for nearly a decade. The electro pop, new 80's wave group from Melbourne will also be there this weekend to play a killer set. They've had three albums and are internationally recognised. "Hearts on Fire" and "Light's and Music" are two of there most recognisable tracks and more recently from their new album Zonoscope you would have heard "Need You Now" and "Take Me Over."

Datarock:
Now we're getting international. Fact: Datarock is derived from the Norwegian word for Computer - Datamaskin and the word rock, so rock music made on computer = Datarock. Clever stuff. These guys are from Bergen in Norway and you would have heard they're name thrown around a lot. Check out their song "Give it Up".

Drapht:
This Perth hip hop artist needs no introduction. Remember "Jimmy Recard"? Enough said. He's going to be there smashing out his recent stuff from his new The Life of Riley album which just dropped last month - look out for Rupunzel on Nova.

Gyroscope:
These guys are no stranger to Nova, especially Nova 93.7. The perth rock boys have many tracks we've loved flogging recently from their fourth album Cohesion like "Some of the Places I Know,""What do I know about Pain", "Baby I'm getting Better"and Fifty500. We even held a private Gyroscope gig for nova listeners last year at Astor Theatre.

Tim and Jean:
The Mandurah boys will be there kicking it near where they're grew up. We've been loving these newly discovered synth pop boys recently who are often compared to the likes of Passion Pit. They just released a new single this month called "Don't Stop" which follows their last two we've been playing on Nova "Come Around"and "I Can Show You."

Washington:
(Megan) We love claiming her as Australian talent but she is originally form Papua New Guinea. She's the quirky jazz, indi pop singer who just repels coolness wherever she goes. As soon as you hear this track you'll know who i'm talking about, " Sunday Best".

So there you have it a quick reminder run through of some of the acts hitting up Groovin the Moo. But there are still plenty of others you're going to want to sink your teeth into like:
