Nick Lachey has wished ex-wife Jessica Simpson well after she announced her copycat engagement just days after Lachey proposed to Vanessa Minnillo.
The former boybander said he's too busy "still basking in the glow" of his own engagement news to worry about his ex-wife, who got engaged one week after he did.
"I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best," Lachey said.
Lachey proposed to long-time girlfriend Minnillo a bit over a week ago and said they would start the wedding planning soon.
"I'm sure we'll get on the planning shortly. We are now just enjoying this experience," he said.
Just one week after announcing his happy news, Simpson also announced she was engaged to boyfriend of five months Eric Johnson.
Friends have denied it is a copycat engagement, claiming the date they got engaged was a significant date for the couple.
As for Simpson's reaction to Lachey's engagement, she has said: "Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa.
"I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best."
Well that sounds very supportive. Joint wedding perhaps?
