Loads of bands both local and international to the UK took home awards at the NME Awards, held on Wednesday at London’s O2 Arena.
The awards, which cover music as well as film and books, saw a host of talent getting recognition for their hard work, and a load of performances to boot.
Kasabian’s performance was dedicated to The Monkees’ Davy Jones, who had passed away earlier that day, with Kasabian singer Tom Meighan singing “(Theme From) The Monkees” in tribute.
Another performance highlight came when Florence Welch, of Florence + The Machine fame, duetted with The Horrors on a rendition of the latter’s single “Still Life”. She took home two awards on the night.
The NME awards also celebrate the worst of music, and it seems Justin Bieber’s taken the hits this time around, being named Villain of the Year and Worst Album.
