We're on track for our worst road toll in more than a decade, after four more people died in crashes on Australia Day. Two 18 year olds and a 17 year old were killed in a horror smash just south of Mount Compass last night, when their car hit a tree just before 9. About three hours earlier, a woman was airlifted from a car rollover on the Old Princes Highway at Monarto but died in hospital.
Rann Pulls the Pin
There was a bit of drama at the opening of North Adelaide Art Gallery yesterday, after Mike Rann bailed at the last minute. The Premier was booked in for the yearly Australia Day Show at Greenhill Galleries with his wife. But he called it off at the last minute, because Michelle Chantelois was there and he didn't think it'd be appropriate!
Another 4 Years...
Our bid to host the 2018 Socer World Cup is on thin ice, with talk that FIFA's only going to pick from Europen Counties. The two winning countries for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups will be revealed at the end of this year. Already Soccer's world boss has been talking about picking from just European nations for the earlier bid.
Apple's New Baby
We'll know what's happening with Apple's new baby soon. Company boss Steve Jobs will unveil a new computer in San Fransisco later today or tomorrow. Word is, it's a touch screen modelled on the iPhone, and a couple of names being thrown around include the iPad or iSlate.
