Sydney act Art Vs Science have been nominated for three massive awards at this year's Jagermeister Independent Music Awards.
The electro lads are up for Best Independent Artist, Best Independent Album and Best Independent Dance/ Electronica Album.
Dan Williams joined us for a chat about awards, pet hates and unicorn tears!
NovaFM: What was your reaction when you found out you were nominated?
Dan Williams: Very stoked. It’s always nice to be nominated for awards, it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling.
Q: What’s the first thing you’ll do if you win a trophy at this year’s awards?
A: Probably put it next to my under 11s baseball runners up trophy.
Q: In three words, tell us why you deserve to win.
A: I love you?
Q: What do you love most about being a musician?
A: Free towels! And you meet a whole bunch of very cool inspiring people.
Q: What's something we would never guess about you?
A: I have eight more teeth in my mouth than my bandmate Jim. He has a tiny little mouth.....
Q: Why do you think the Jagermeister Independent Music Awards are important for Aussie music?
A: Well any means of getting Australian bands into the limelight is a positive, really. And that is what the awards do. Simple!
Q: What are three fundamental things you request in your rider?
A: Unicorn tears, butter and clean socks.
Q: What's the most embarrassing album on your iPod, and why?
A: A demo I did with a band ages ago. At the time I thought it was ace but now that I listen to it I want to burn my ears. I could probably just delete it, but it serves its purpose as a reminder of what not to do.
Q: What's the worst thing that's happened during a live show?
A: One time Dan Mac took off his shirt off during the show, which made it necessary for me to take off my shirt. I have little weird titties that bounce around when I play the drums. It was embarrassing.
Q: What’s your biggest pet hate?
A: My unwashed jeans.
11. What are some of your guilty pleasures?
I kind of don't entirely hate the Pitbull song Calle Ocho...
The Jagermeister Independent Music Awards will take place on October 12 at Revolt in Kensington. Adalita will perform at the event alongside Illy, Emma Louise and Calling All Cars.
