Kiwi band manager and consulate staffer Murray Hewitt could become the boss of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch.
Producers of the hit US series The Office have confirmed they have approached Rhys Darby, who plays Murray, to replace Steve Carell.
But he could have some competition, with The Office boss Paul Lieberstein revealing they are also looking seriously at Danny McBride from Eastbound & Down.
But good news for Conchords lovers - The Office may just interfere with Eastbound's shooting schedule whereas Conchords isn't around anymore.
Lieberstein said whoever they pick might not necessarily replace Steve Carell directly, who is leaving the show this year.
"We haven’t settled exactly who will take over," saidLieberstein, adding that they might just promote a current staffer such as Dwight, to the top job.
We think Murray Hewitt has the perfect resume for the job - he successfully managed the Conchords into oblivion and is really good at taking attendance in meetings.
