Heavy metal guru Ronnie James Dio has passed away.
The music legend, who fronted Black Sabbath while Ozzy Osbourne took a break -- most famously through the band's Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell days -- had been battling stomach cancer for the past six months.
His wife Wendy issued a statement, telling fans of her broken heart. "Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all," she explained. "Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever."
Dio, 67, created the very popular dark metal hand gesture, the "devil horn."
