Despite the controversy he caused the last few times he presented an MTV awards show, the music channel have decided to enlist the services of Russell Brand once again to host their annual Movie Awards.
The ceremony will take place on June 3rd in LA, and the comic promises it will be “more impressive than The Avengers” – his words, not ours. He said:
'This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers and you won't have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out.'
When Russ presented the MTV Video Awards back in 2008 (he also hosted it in 2009) he ended up ruffling a few feathers by describing the then President, George W Bush, as a 'a retarded cowboy fella' who 'wouldn't be trusted with scissors' in Britain.
The head of MTV praised the actor’s “unpredictable wit” however saying it would “uniquely connect him” to the channel’s audience for this year’s ceremony.
And a good bit of controversy always gets people talking doesn’t it?
